Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Riverge ("we", "us") provides real-time collaborative coding in the browser. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
This is a plain-language policy provided for transparency. It isn't legal advice; if you operate in a regulated industry or region, confirm your obligations with a professional.
What we collect
- Account details — if you create an account: your email, display name, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name and photo.
- Your content — the code, files, chat and room data you create, stored so your rooms persist and collaborators can see them.
- Basic usage data — anonymous, aggregate events (e.g. a room was created, a run happened) used to understand product usage. We do not sell this.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data or your code.
- We don't show third-party ads.
- We don't run your code on our servers — code executes in your own browser.
Joining without an account
Anyone with a room link can join in the browser without an account. In that case we only process the room content needed to keep everyone in sync; we don't create a profile for you.
Third parties we rely on
- Hosting — our application and data are hosted on cloud infrastructure.
- Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Email — transactional email (invites, password resets) via an email provider.
- Live sessions — when you screen-share a running app, media is relayed by a real-time provider; it is not stored by us.
Data retention
Free rooms keep history for a limited window; paid plans keep it as long as your subscription is active. You can delete your rooms and account at any time, which removes the associated content from active systems.
Your choices
- Access, export or delete your account data from within the app or by contacting us.
- Sign out and stop using the service at any time.
